Virtual Workshop. 5-6 May 2021.
In this workshop, several researchers from the field of Heritage Science will give 30-minute lectures to illustrate the latest trends in the study of objects/materials/sites belonging to the field of Cultural and Archaeological Heritage.
People working in the field of art conservation and heritage science are welcome to attend this workshop. We particularly encourage the participation of Masters and PhD students working in this field.

43rd International Symposium on Archaeometry (ISA 2020)

The aim of the Symposium is to promote the development and use of scientific techniques, for the extraction of archaeological and historical information from the cultural heritage and the paleoenvironment. It involves all Natural Sciences and all types of objects and materials related with human activity. Emphasis will be given to integrated and multi-disciplinary studies involving archaeological or anthropological research.
The subjects covered by the Symposium are grouped into sessions (please see the scientific programme) under which the papers will be presented either as oral or poster.
The 43rd International Symposium on Archaeometry (ISA 2020) will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from May 18 to May 22, 2020, organized by Instituto Superior Técnico.

Trobades de les Egipcíaques 2019: Torres i castells, s. VI-XIV: més enllà de les pedres
Les trobades de les Egipcíaques volen ser un punt d'encontre entre els professionals que d'una manera o altre intervenen en el Patrimoni, alhora que un espai de debat i reflexió que permeti aportar noves idees, qüestionar els vells conceptes i facilitar l'intercanvi d'informacions, experiències i coneixements. En definitiva, una tasca interdisciplinar no jeràrquica que pretén col·laborar a l'articulació i la presa de decisions pel que fa al coneixement, estudi, conservació, restauració i difusió del Patrimoni històric material.

'Science and Past: Studying and Preserving Organic and Biomaterial Heritage

The course is focused on the development and use of scientific techniques in order to extract archaeological, historical and conservation information from organic and biomaterials belonging to our cultural heritage. In this edition, special focus will be given on understand and preserve these type of materials through an in-depth scientific approach.
The lectures are addressing to students, researchers and professionals in chemistry, physics, biology, paleontology, archaeology, conservation science, etc., to acquire a solid knowledge on the state of art of this topic, applied to the study, safeguarding, conservation and authentication of material heritage.

We are organizing a special issue that may be of interest to you. As the Guest Editor, I cordially invite you to submit a manuscript for consideration and possible publication in a special issue on "Mineralogy in Archaeometry and Cultural Heritage" to be published in /Minerals/ (http://www.mdpi.com/journal/minerals), an open access journal that covers all aspects of mineralogy and mineral processing research. /Minerals/ is covered by the leading indexing and abstracting services, including Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science), Chemical Abstracts, Scopus and GeoRef. The Impact Factor of Minerals is 1.835 (JCR 2017).
